Origin

The Orthodox Church in India is one of the most ancient Churches which traces its origin in 52 A.D, when St. Thomas, the disciple of Jesus Christ landed at Cranganore and established Christianity in Various parts of the Southern Region of India. The Church played a vital role in the main stream development of our country. The Orthodox Church in India runs several Educational Institutes, Schools, Colleges, Engineering & medical Institutions, Hospitals, Old age homes, Orphanages, Destitute Homes etc. in different parts of the country.
